Researchers of the university of Zurich studied the effects of oxytocin on our behavior. It was already known that this hormone has a role in the relations between animals. 58 students took part in the test. They had to play the part of an investor who lends money to a banker. This one could multiply the sum by 4, but was free to restore what he wanted. 29 students inhaled an oxytocin spray, 29 inhaled a placebo. Result : among the first group, 13 gave all their money to the banker, against only 6 at the others.
It would thus seem that this hormone supports confidence. However, the researchers reassure us as for a possible handling : the hormone has one lifespan from only 2 or 3 minutes in the air, which returns impossible for a bank or a store to « poison » us.
