As the natural, physical or mathematical sciences, which tries to rationalize our world, the purpose of the history is to give a rational explanation to our past. The history, as a discipline, is provided with laws : social laws, economic laws, political laws, demographic laws... And over all, the method of the historians is a scientific method : the historian puts questions, fact of the studies according to these questions, and once answers it with full knowledge of the facts. All these characteristics make history a true science, as well as the applied sciences. And like any science, the history has its secrecies, its mysteries, its questions which one will perhaps never solve...
