Some researchers have discovered why the spaghetti, when one break it, are always in many pieces and why one never obtains only two parts. In their laboratory of the University Paris VI (Pierre et Marie Curie), they found that the elastic rods, when they are submitted to a big curve, create some elastic waves which are propagated after the broke, exciting the new pieces. Far away from the gastronomic and play appearance, this discovery will have applications for the glass fibres and the metal rods.
